You can only do this when there isn’t an active war, so you have small windows of opportunity to get things set before your alliance is thrust right back into the fray. Quake , captain american , cross bones., sw etc. You can use their bad ai with some teams in ideal set ups and characters that do thing son their second turns
As an alliance member you need to be active in war for 2 reasons: Mercs and hydra for sure. Avengers and tech teams are probably better on offense.
